Bita Ghassemi

Bita Ghassemi is an award-winning Iranian-Texan writer, director and street photographer from Austin, Texas. Her socially conscious films explore themes such as censorship, the duality of her own cultural existence, and the ever-changing political landscape of Iran through her Western lens. Her work has screened at a multitude of festivals and venues worldwide including SXSW, the Berlinale, and The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. She earned her undergraduate film degree Summa cum Laude
