About this project
In Nara, Japan, deer are considered messengers of the gods and have long been protected within specific areas—a coexistence between humans and the divine. However, in recent years, the deer have ventured beyond these buffer zones into human residential areas, forming new herds in various locations. Yet, the citizens have no choice but to accept them rather than exterminate them. I am documenting this strange, new way of life.
