After the Sirens

MRMehri Rahimzadeh

This photograph shows a woman sleeping on a city bus while returning home during wartime in Iran. In the quiet movement of the city, she exists in a space between wakefulness and forgetting, as if exhaustion has moved beyond her body and settled into the surrounding air. The black veil is not only a cultural sign, but also a layer of silence and protection. The image is an attempt to look at the small moments of life that continue within larger, unstable circumstances.
